Chocolate Doughnuts


1 1/2 squares chocolate

1 tsp. oil

2 eggs

1 1/4 cup sugar

1 cup buttermilk

1 tsp. soda

1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

1 tsp. salt


Melt chocolate over hot water in a double boiler.

Dissolve soda in buttermilk. Mix all dry ingredients together.

Then mix both the mixtures, add enough flour to make it in cake consistency.

Let it stand 2 hours. After 2 hours, add 1 heaping teaspoon baking powder and flour enough to handle.

Garnish with a white creamy zigzag layer. Refrigerate.
